Scope

This Implementation Guide (IG) specifies a set of core HL7® FHIR® artifacts for the MyHealth@EU programme, supporting European cross-border health data exchange.

It provides reusable FHIR profiles, logical models, and terminologies that serve as the common foundation for domain-specific MyHealth@EU IGs (e.g., ePrescription, Hospital Discharge Report, Laboratory Report, Vaccination).

The guide supports:

• Implementers building MyHealth@EU-compliant FHIR services.
• National Contact Points (NCPs) integrating with the MyHealth@EU infrastructure.
• Standards experts deriving domain-specific IGs from a harmonized MyHealth@EU foundation.

MyHealth@EU

MyHealth@EU is the European cross-border health data exchange infrastructure, enabling patients and health professionals to access and share health data across EU Member States.

This IG operationalizes the MyHealth@EU Functional Requirements as HL7 FHIR artifacts, refining the EHDS logical information models provided by the Xt-EHR project to reflect MyHealth@EU-specific obligations.

What is in this Guide

This guide includes:

1. HL7 FHIR Logical Models — representing the MyHealth@EU core information requirements, derived from EHDS logical models with MyHealth@EU-specific obligations (Mandatory / Required / Optional).
2. HL7 FHIR Profiles — conformance resources (profiles, value sets, code systems) implementing the logical models.
3. Model-to-Profile Mappings — inline tables documenting how each logical model element maps to a FHIR R4 path in the corresponding profile.

Relationship to Other IGs

This guide is derived from the HL7 Europe Base and Core IG and depends on the EHDS Logical Models from Xt-EHR.

Domain-specific MyHealth@EU IGs (ePrescription, HDR, Laboratory, Vaccination, etc.) are derived from this Core IG, ensuring consistency and reuse across all MyHealth@EU services.
